8 - Orchi, just leave the keyboard alone!!!

On january 15 exhausted Moderator Clifton wrote one of his last posts before resigning:

Orchi just leave the keyboard alone!

We are discovering you to be more petulant and dogmatic as the days progress and further, one whom refuses to answer simple questions and play stupid, puerile games.

I'm not the only one sick of it and stating it is quite a positive contribution compared to the rubbish you're currently spouting.

Now, either put up or shut up. It's the only way anyone will ever take you seriously on this board. You want the public attention but don't want the scrutiny. That just reeks of insecurity.

On this watch I would be insecure as well. Either answer the simple questions asked or be utterly silent on it until Geneva writes that it is OK. If we never hear of this watch again we will know Geneva told you what you didn't want to hea

Orchi, better stop here - I do not want to see Jed leaving

February 23 2011 at 10:14 AM
the board like Clifton for the same reason. That would be the second big loss here. You asked Jed for his opinion (which I think is reliable and well sound and he answered your comments like a lame patient donkey imho).

Jed, no offense at all, I just wanted to point out that I for my person would have been responsible for a Texas chainsaw massacre at half thread.... happy.gif

And at the moment when Jed surrenders telling you that he is not willing to dispute with you anymore you take the MOD-card...... very unfair.
Jed, you got my mail in case you need a ghost-writer..... LOL (From veteran VRF member MichaelK)

Somebody should stop you from posting, block his IP number for at least 48 hours to give it time to sink

I'm off till it's interesting again!!
(From veteran VRF member Philipp)

Orchi, if you are going to start this up again keep it polite and respectful... (from Richard C VRF Owner)

3 words for you Orchi - I honestly I think you are writing far too much about this ..It impossible to follow you!
good luck with Geneva! (from member Snoop)

Orchi why not open your own internet Rolex site? Then we can decide to read YOU or not. (from member Achim)

Here we go again ... Bored now :( (from veteran member Miles)

Do you know what a Moderator is ORCHI?

February 23 2011 at 2:56 PM

A Mod is someone who gives his time and knowledge free of charge for the good of the forum and the hobby.

MODS are long standing VRF contributors who have been asked if they would help keep VRF a sane and tidy place.

Jed has not replied to your posts as a moderator and has signed as Jed every time, not Mods.

A moderator is a VRF member and contributor first and a Mod while he's here.

Then you post this nonsense.

My guess is that you have now lost Jed in any further discussions.

I also miss Clifton here and we all know what happened there :-( (from Roger T. Moderator)

7 - The long and painful Rolex Submariner 1530 Big Crown story

Well, this is mostly the present episode that made me create this blog.

To make a long story short our 'friend' Orchi Palar, always in the search of a grail that could surpass any other watches his colleagues could be owning, once introduced on the forum a 6538 so called Big Crown fitted with a 1530 caliber (!)
A watch 'rarer than a hen's teeth'  (Surely! because Rolex never ever produced such a watch!).

For more than a month (december 2010/january 2011) the forum had been kept busy non stop by a marathon thread started by our malaysian friend about his ".incredible find" a never seen before Submatoner Big crown fitted with a caliber 1530.

Despite the fact that absolutely all the upper crust of the vintage Rolex collecting hobby in the world (US/English/Italian/Canadian...you name it) participated to that excessive thread to explain Mister Orchi that his watch was not correct, rookie Orchi stood 'right in his boots' against all, with the only support of....the seller of the watch :-)

Yes, every single "big shot" in our hobby tried to nicely  reason him, without any success, he was right and we were wrong ...he owned one of a kind watch, so rare that we did not even know about it, we could not understand it and he would prove to the hobby he was right and we were all just a bunch of uneducated fellows (well you see the picture).

So to stop that ridiculous thread about Orchi's Frankenwatch early 2011, I just suggested him  to contact Rolex HQ and ask someone in Geneva to clarify that issue (what he did not know is that to be sure me and another VRF member having access to Rolex Geneva already contacted the "lake" as Marcello P. likes to name it, and got confirmation that such a Big Crown fitted with a 1530 never existed or, to be more precise, never had been produced by the Rolex manufactory.

So after giving some of my contacts to Orchis I received an email from him January 23 2011

Dear Buddy Philip,

Thanks for your concern...

Orchi's date with Geneva is in March...
not earlier than that...

Orchi had spoken to Miss. Francois Ravera...
about the watch authenticated...
n she advised it's better to bring it along...

Thanks again...

On february 7 I received another email frm Orchi:

Objet : Re: Geneva trip
Dear Buddy Philip,
>
> Thanks for your kind response...
>
> Orchi had thought about that too...
> but the only way to prove the situation...
> (under the current circumstance that the watch now has the RSC NYC paper)...
> is to get it officially from Geneva...
> in order to have a chance at getting any refund...
> from the Seller...
>
> Irrespective of any Good or bad news eventually from Geneva...
> Orchi still has to make the trip there in March...to get it done officially...
> either to support...or dispute the Seller's claim...definitely...
>
> Thanks so much for your concern n assistance...nevertheless.
>
> Best regards
> Orchi.
Soon after Orchi also wrote this statement :

Just short trip Buddy JB.Geneva's trip in March.Orchi's a CNY coming soon to celebrate.nt.

January 29 2011 at 11:34 AM
My answer to him the following day (feb 08) was:

Hi Orchi,
> I think you better get a refund and no need to go to Geneva.
> Sorry!
> PS: someone else on VRF  got the same answer (from another source) but HE has been requested
> not to speak (not me). So we had  both the same answer, no BC with 1530.

(NB: I did noy know at the time that the Same Orchi begging for help was writting on his blog that I was a man full of "trickeries and of poor ethics" regarding me selling parts... stabbing you in the back you said? :-)

So Orchi gave his word to the community that he will bring the watch in march to Geneva and will tell us all the verdict of Geneva.

Orchi made several allusion to his trip to Geneva in March 2011 to have the watch authenticated.

To take just one example, member Igor asked that question on VRF:

  • Please define UTRA Rare as pertains to Rolex watches View All - IgorDR

  • ...and Orchi to answer :

  • "6538BC+"3-6-9 or w/Cal. 1530 White Sub 620x. areULTRA RARE in Orchi's opinion++
    Err...sorry...
    Orchi Can't resist...
    until "Geneva..."
    LOL...!

    Best regards
    Orchi."

  • Well we were all of us waiting for the March trip to Geneva because we had to endure soooooooo many posts like the following one full of sarcasms and non sense  from Orchi, beware and prepare Bayer and Alka Seltzer because as usual his posts are as long as indigestible :

  • Err...that was stated by the certain VRF acclaimed Critic(s)...

    http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/thread/1294854212/loose+movement+-+gimme+a+bride+%28+6538+content+%29

Here's to refresh a couple of recent memories...
between the long long experienced "teacher" watchmaker...
    n his "good" student...

*that slight difference corresponds to something called "deck height"*
    January 2 2011, 7:39 PM

*which is why a 1530 calibre has to be retrofitted in a 6538 case. this is why the screws do not set right.
right, oh mighty Consigliere Viper? lol.

I am a good student!!! nothing to do with the teacher...*

    *And to add to that..JB..*
    January 2 2011, 8:01 PM

the top and bottom grove ring lip where the screw or bridal sits in the 6538 case is a hair deeper to compensate for machining of the metal height left on the 1030 plate screw or bridal indentation slots.

Also the canon pinion and second wheel on the 1530 and 1030 are of different lengths, which has relevance as to how the hands and dial will sit on the caliber.

So many factors as to why a 1030 and 1530 calibers are as different as a 1065,1575, 3035, and 3135 movement.

*Very much agreed. I bet I could rip one of these apart...*
    January 3 2011, 8:30 AM

and swap movements and dials in a heartbeat. can you bring your 6538 over later? I have a day date case I want to make into a "rare bird"... LOLOL!! could you imagine the piece I would come up with???*

    http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/thread/1294017557/scans++5510+6538++.

The above "teachings" n "expert opinions" from...
    the certain acclaimed critic(s)...
    the long long experienced "teacher"...
    n his "good" student...
have since inspired Orchi to do a simple study...
(albeit with shallow experience n untrained eyes)
    to see whether or NOT...
the art...n looooooooog history of watchmaking by ROLEX...
would be something like...making space exploring rocket science...

    [linked image]

    So now...err...
Lets see where Orchi has misplaced the notes...
    OK...got it...

IF Orchi may be allowed to begin by showing the audience that...
this is a genuine Ref.5508 watch case...
which is empty without its intended Cal.1530 n Dial fitted in it...

    [linked image]?t=1296050502
    [linked image]

    Following NOTE: NO "EXTRA Ring"...

Orchi does NOT need a micro welder...
to create...the so claimed "EXTRA RING..." on this 5508 watch case...
or to modify anything with the internal dimensions of the case...

    [linked image]?t=1296050561
    [linked image]?t=

Then...please let Orchi show you now...
how a genuine Non-COSC Cal.1030 movement looks like...
from Frontal view of the movement...

[linked image] In here...one would see what is usually stamped on the Frontal frame...
where the Dial would be mounted onto the movement...
    (Note: Marked "ROLEX PATENTED"...only
Rolex is NOT that stupid to stamp any movement nos....
on this Frontal area...because it's plain illogical n impractical)

    [linked image]?t=1296050871

This here...please let Orchi show you how the Cal.1030 looks like...
from the REAR view...of the movement...

    [linked image]?t=1296051064

So here it is...Orchi's old faithful watchmaker...
(being the MOST humble at his experience of handling Rolex)
is able to fit the entire Cal.1030 movement...
into the Ref.5508 watch case...with MUCH easy...
(intended so for illustration purpose only)...

n Orchi can personally guarantees anyone that...
there was absolutely NO requirement for any modification...
    at ALL...whatsoever...

    [linked image]

    Also Orchi can further guarantee...
    that by Orchi doing so...
    the Cal.1030 movement is fitted...PERFECTLY...
    into the Ref.5508 watch case...
WITHOUT the nonsensical talks about having a "LOOSE MOVEMENT"...
so claimed repeatedly...by the acclaimed "experts" in VRF...

n it's WITHOUT ever affecting the movement's functions...
    or accuracy...

    [linked image]
    [linked image]
    [linked image]
    [linked image]

Can any Buddies...assist Orchi to see...
    whether this Cal.1030 movement...
    being fitted into a Ref.5508...
    would require..."a Bride"..."a Hammer"...

    or NOT...???

In short...please allow Orchi to summarize...
the whole fiasco about...the PLENTY of...
    nonsensical claims n accusations...
from the experienced "experts" in VRF...
by posting this image for the relevant parties...

    Soon again...
Orchi promises more to come... (NB : Regarding Geneva Orchi we are still waiting and today is  October 22 2011, your Geneva meeting was last march!!!)
    from the "inspirations"...
    of the VRF "experts"...

    http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/thread/1295969565/%26quot%3BALL+watches+w-Cal.1530+should+hv+movement+S-n.%26quot%3B.Facing+the+Critic%28s%29.%28Cal.1530+Content%29%2B%2B

    Best regards
    Orchi.

  • EPILOGUE

As I promised to be short, the bottom line of that to long story is that our Zorro, our forum policeman, our expert, our champion of ethics, NEVER EVER GAVE THE FORUM THE RESULT OF THE GENEVA TRIP (if ever he went). Yes, our "expert" always in a crusade for the truth NEVER ANSWERED the many questions members started to ask after march- ie So what did Rolex Geneva said? Do you have any news about the 1530 BC? Did you get any authentication papers from Rolex Geneva? Was the watch legit? Tons of these questions were asked to the champion of truth and honesty...and all these questions were left unanswered.

As one see courage is obviously not one of the main quality of Orchi Palar.

Now I think you know better who this Orchi is, the one providing, names, avatar, ip addresses on his blog to denounce "unethical people" (the same people he is begging to help him and I am not speaking about me only). Difference of culture? Not only.

Today as a result of Orchis attitude one veteran VRF member and moderator resigned from VRF, veterans members do not post anymore. As if nothing ever happened, as if more than one hundred posts never were issued about his franken watch on VRF, Mister Palar is still parade on VRF positioning himself-as-the-good-guy-always-ready-to-help-newbies. Thanks God their is some kind of justice and all his posts are now ignored by veterans members and on the forum he is getting attention and interest only by...himself.

    6 - Me, myself and I

Bah, I admit having lied to you, yes I know why Orchi speaks at the 3rd person as he gave himself the answer on VRF some years ago:

"Err buddies...Orchi regards the worldwideweb...as a virtual realm...where EVERYBODY in it including you n the rest of the gentlemen n ladies in here exist.

Orchi is MERELY in here as the spirit n soul extension of an ugly human body who is right now...banging away at the prehistory keyboard of an ancient computing machine.."

And  I forbid anyone to pretend that Orchi is either nuts either an alien, he is just...hmm strange :-)

5 - Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlaine and... Orchi

Ah yes I forgot, among various odd things Orchi also likes to address himself to VRF members via poems arousing some amazement among some new members:-)

Err...in the LOOOOG list of supports...
on the eBay's Qs & As of the auction listing...

    Pardon Orchi for asking...
Did you try to lend support to the listing...?
Or were you just trying to cut a deal off the Seller...
    at reasonable offering...?

You seems to know quite a bit in details about the Seller...
n the watch...from the tone of your responses in here...

Will you share them in here...?

Or is Orchi missing something obvious...?
Could Orchi have been wrong to be overly suspicious...?

    Please advise...

    Best regards
    Orchi.

Of course when newbies dicover VRF and read Orchi's post the reaction is kind of funny :

Does Orchi always write using poetic syntax?

    December 5 2010 at 12:16 AM

Why do I feel like I'm interpreting hidden meanings in a Sylvia Plath poem when I work my way through Orchi's various commentaries here? And why does Orchi refer to himself in the third person? And what does "n" mean (as in "n the watch")? And what's Orchi's intention anyway in this scenario -- is he a buyer or is he a debunker? I'm beginning to feel like it's Passover, and I'm the kid who's been tasked with asking the Four Questions.

4 - Your watches are worth way less than you think...

An other of Orchi's obsession is that "our" watches (us VRF members) are worth much less than we think.
Why trying to prove this? Yes you asked yourself the right question :-)

So here is one of the typical Orchi Palar's post on that topic :

"Here's the original thread posted in VRF...
where it received plenty of criticism in denial especially
from those Dealers n Collectors that refused to accept the fact that their stocks...
n collection of Vintage Rolex watches are worth a lot less than what they used to be..."

Of course Orchi tried to prove his words giving irrelevant examples of similar watches for sale or sold but either in poorer condition, either with after market parts. Palar could not notice it because of his lack of experience.

3 - Zorro Palar and the 98% like new dial.

Posting on Vintage Rolex Forum Orchi Palar had one and only goal: becoming a big and reknown collector, specialist in any and every aspects of our hobby. To achieve his goal he felt like an obligation to confront himself systematically with veteran members or  big collectors owning large watch collections.
Just to give an example, when I personnally tried to sell what I believed to be a new old stock dial worth around 1000 usd, Orchi with all his envy and venom made a mega attack against me on VRF about my listing explaining that the dial was not nos, explaining that I was full of 'trickery and poor ethics' etc... Finally after the mess he did on the forum every members concerned agreed to say that if the dial was not 100% new it was 98% new. Orchi agreed with that too. For no ambiguity (I am not making a leaving with watches or parts I run a real estate company) I offered the dial to a charity auction. Richard Carver (owner of VRF) locked the thread to stop Orchi's crazy attacks.
Still, Zorchi felt humiliated and, like if  he was on a mission, he felt an imperious need to tell his version of the story on his blog (remember that every one agreed that the dial was 98% new and that the 1K dial went to charity anyway).

"This has happened before in VRF back in early February...
with another of Orchi's thread topic...exposing the trickery n poor ethics of the certain member - Dingomad"

What Orchi forgot to mention on his blog is that I had been a member of VRF since the very begining selling from time to time and with no problem what so ever for more than 10 years.
A shrink could see in his behavior some mental disorder imho :-)

2 - How Orchi Palar (wanabe Rolex watch collector) poisoned (VRF) Vintage Rolex Forum

Weirdo Orchi Palar started collecting Rolex watches very recently in 2007 but still, the first thing he felt like doing the same year, with no or little knowledge, was to create a blog about Rolex watches (a blog full of errors, fake watches and informations stolen here and there on the net)"

Here are the first words of his blog.

"Orchipalar ...A Rookie Malaysian Blogger. ...A Beginner Rolex Watch Collector."

At the same period he started posting on various Rolex and vintage Rolex forum mostly informations he had read either in books either on the net. When Orchi Palar started posting, for some unknown reason (I am not Sigmung Freud) he decided to call every one "buddy" (even veterans that politely asked him not to) and to speak about himself at the third person.
"Orchi thinks, Orchi told you, Orchi recently saw" etc etc  ?!?
Some veteran members even one of the moderators (Roger T) tried to ask him to please "In Rome do as the Romans do" but buddy Orchi did not pay attention.
Like some kind of king he decided to go on speaking about himself at the third person and that was his decision. PERIOD. (well a nice introduction for a newbie as one can understand :-)
Then, Orchi Palar explained VRF members that (globally)  his job was to travel the world to rent various trucks and other construction tools for the company in which he works. Orchi dicovering a world of wealthy collectors owning for hundred thousands dollars of watches felt for some unknown reason like telling his audience that he had modest means but he would try to still build a nice collection (on VRF there is no discrimination what so ever, and that is part of the great success of that forum).
Well once again I'm not Sigmund but when you add the fact that he felt an imperious obligation to call every one "buddy" plus the fact that he speaks about him at the third person plus he felt necessary to justify his modest means - it is easy to appreciate his psychological mood when approaching the vintage Rolex community.
The above introduction is important to understand the "why" of this blog and the way he behaved on various Rolex foras.
